Zip Around: Money

What a surprise! Word problems can be fun! Zip Around: Money involves the whole class in speaking distinctly, listening carefully, and computing quickly. No one wants to be caught napping as the problems and answers zip around the entire class. Cards, each with an “I have” number from 1 to 32, have players mentally computing problems such as “I had 5 nickels and spent 11 cents. How much is left?” or “I have 9 nickels. How many more do I need to have $1.50?” Each card contains four levels of difficulty. Can be played with the entire class, in small groups, or as solitaire.
